Villa LalemantThe villa, well-known as "Villa Lalemant" was built in 1928. After the world exhibition in Ghent in 1919, the villa was constructed in an Art-Deco style, typical for that time period. The neighborhood is locally known as the Millionaires Quarter.

The name of the street "Krijgslaan", which means "Combat Lane", has its origins in the fact that it was a connection between the city centre and a military domain.

The family Lalemant is wellknown in Ghent. The "Villa Lalemant" was situated on a much bigger surface, there was even a seperate building for the housekeeper. After the death of Mrs Lalemant in 1994, the building was sold to a construction firm "Belim". They constructed a 21.527,82 square feet (2000 m²) office by building an extension at the back of the old villa. The megastore "Lidl" used the extended villa as their principal office for 7 years.

On the 3rd of October 2005, "Villa Lalemant" was bought. After a lot of conversion and renovation for eleven months, a beautiful hotel evolved with fifteen rooms (e.g. standard studios, Art-Deco luxury suites, hospital rooms and mini apartments), kitchen, restaurant, bar and meeting room, fitness room, swimming pool and sauna and even an apartment for the housekeeper. A part of the building is rented by third parties. The hotel was named "Villa Cento Passi".

Supervised by Inhouse Architect Rafael Van Herreweghe, the renovation and reconstruction of the villa was started on the 5th of October 2006. Only two days after signing the sale contract. "Villa Cento Passi" opened it doors on the 3rd of September 2006.
